Vidalia Police and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are once again working together to solve a shooting in Vidalia. This time, fortunately, the victim is suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.

Early Sunday morning officers from the Vidalia Police Department were dispatched to the 600 block of Scott Driver in reference to shots being fired. While the officers were enroute, Toombs E911 advised them that a male with multiple gunshot wounds was found in a doorway in the 700 block. He was identified as Shawn Michael Edwards, age 22, of Vidalia.

When officers arrived at the scene, they performed medical treatment until Toombs-Montgomery EMS arrived. Edwards was transported to Augusta University Medical Center for further treatment.
