Mr. Larry Hoke Clark, age 79, of the McGregor Community in Montgomery County, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at his home, after a sudden illness. He was a native of Toombs County, raised in the Mt. Moriah Community and was a 1963 graduate of Lyons High School. He retired fifty years as general foreman from Utilicon Construction where he had fifty years in power line construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of McGregor Presbyterian Church, past Master of the former Aural Masonic Lodge in Mt. Vernon and was a former Shriner. He enjoyed anything outdoor, including boating, fishing, bird hunting, yard work, farming, gardening, riding his UTV, and most of all, spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Hughes Clark; and parents, Home Smith Clark and Tycile Boyette Clark Williamson.
His family includes three daughters, Brenda Morris Adams of Johnson County, Tina Marie Clark “Sis” Williamson and husband Paul of the Kibbee Community, and Gina Clark “Skeeter” Thigpen and husband Danny of the Bear Creek Community; eight grandchildren, Josh Poole, Zacheri Morris, Jake Poole, Whitley Ledford and husband Wil, Nicki Morris, Katie Cheshire and husband Stacy, Danielle McDonald and husband Jason, Georgia Shay Peebles and husband Tyler; six great-grandchildren, Paisley, Kendall, Sawyer, Lee, Izzy, and Jackson; one brother, Freddie Clark of the English Eddy Community, four sisters, Sue Clark Clark of Collins, Gwen Clark Richardson of Dublin, Dale Clark Newsome of Colorado, and June Clark Taylor and husband Johnny of Statesboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Friday morning, May 3rd, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the McCrimmon Cemetery in Montgomery County.
