Beverly Thigpen

Mrs. Beverly Conner Thigpen, age 82, of the McGregor Community in Montgomery County, died Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Meadows Park Health  & Rehab in Vidalia, following an extended illness.  She was born in Montgomery County on February 11, 1942, to the late Mart B Conner and Odessa Town Conner.  She lived in Montgomery County most of her life.  She was a 1960 graduate of Montgomery County High School where she was selected as “Miss Forestry”, and she attended Brewton-Parker College.  She was president of the Tennille Woman’s Club, a lifetime member of Mt. Vernon Garden Club, serving as secretary of the Olender District.  She was a member of McGregor Presbyterian Church and the Vidalia chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She enjoyed shopping, feeding hummingbirds, playing piano, and caring and nurturing others.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler J. Stewart; and a sister-in-law, Debbie W. Conner.

Her family includes her husband of sixty-two years, Don M. Thigpen of McGregor, two children, Janet T. Stanley and husband Byron of Reidsville, and Alan Thigpen and wife Lacey of McGregor; one brother, Donnie Conner and wife Bertha of Lyons; six grandchildren, Conner Thigpen of McGregor, Carolina Thigpen Wallace and husband William of Brunswick, Catherine Thigpen of Statesboro, Anna Stanley of Reidsville, Tyler Best and Alexis Best of McGregor; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon, May 7th, at 4:30 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock and Pastor Wayne McDaniel officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 until just prior to the service.
