Mrs. Linda Raby Hood, age 75, of Lyons, died Friday, May 3, 2024, at her home, after a sudden illness. She was born in Abbeville, South Carolina, grew up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, living in West Palm Beach, Florida for several years before moving to Toombs County in 1979. She worked in the garment industry. She was a florist, working with Tommy Winham Florist and Ellis’ Florist, and she owned her own flower shop in Vidalia. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Lyons, and enjoyed crafts.
Her family includes her husband, Joseph Hood of Lyons; two sons, Raymond Joseph Raby and wife Cindy of Grand Bay, Alabama, and Doug Raby and wife Beth of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Paul Raby of Grand Bay, and Rachel Raby Howard and husband Sidney of Japan; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Loraine Kelly of Lyons; and her furbabies, Gator, Charlie, CC, and Prissy.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
The funeral service will be Tuesday morning, May 7th, at 11:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Godbee officiating. Burial will follow at Lyons City Cemetery.
