Mr. Timothy Watson “Tim” Mixon, age 70, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Oxley Park in Lyons, after an extended illness.  He was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, and he attended Vidalia schools and Toombs Training Center.  He worked at Handy Andy in Vidalia for several years and attended Vidalia Primitive Baptist Church.  Tim enjoyed camping, fishing, eating fried shrimp, Georgia Bulldogs, riding a Ranger, talking with people, and could be seen regularly at Captain’s Corner eating with his father.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Melvin Mixon and Nora Virginia Gay Mixon.

His family includes three siblings, Glenn Mixon and wife Vicki of the Sharpespur Community, Melva Mixon Fowler and husband Royce of Soperton, and Ava Lea Mixon Pierce and husband Barry of Fernandina Beach, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside funeral service will be Monday morning, May 6th, at 11:00 in Lakeview Memorial Gardens with Pastor Russell Glading and Royce Fowler officiating.
