Mr. Anthony “Tony” Williamson, age 64, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Candler County Hospital in Metter, following a brief illness.  He was a native of Toombs County, living in Vidalia all of his life, and he was a 1978 graduate of Vidalia High School.  He was a graduate of Swainsboro Technical Institute with a degree in Electronics.  In the early 1990’s, he and his brother founded ViTech in Vidalia and operated it until 2017.  He was a member of Grace Church in Vidalia; and he enjoyed cooking, grilling, playing guitar, and spending time with his grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris Kenneth Williamson and Lois Glenda Sumner Williamson.

His family includes three children, Amy Waters and husband Tray of Metter, Brent Williamson of Vidalia, and Ashton Williamson of Metter; four grandchildren, Layton, Lanee, and Lakelynn Waters, and Hazel Williamson; one sister, Pam Williamson Fitzgerald and husband Kevin of Englewood, Florida; two brothers, Kenny Williamson and wife Stephanie, and Timmy Williamson and wife Johnnie, all of Vidalia; fiancé, Pam Sanders of Vidalia; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, May 5th, at 3:00 in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Morris Cemetery near Oak Park.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.
