Houser Mug

A youth pastor at a Metter church has been arrested and charged with a felony after a month-long investigation by local law enforcement and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, who is the lead agency in the investigation.

Benjamin Dalton Houser, of Glennville, was taken into custody on Friday, April 26, at the Glennville Police Department and is currently being held in the Candler County Jail. His official charge is Obscene Internet Contact With a Minor.

According to the Houser’s booking information, on March 29 an investigator met with two deacons of the Cedar Street Baptist Church in reference to possible crimes against children. Based on the information provided to the investigator, the Candler County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the GBI.

Houser is being held on a $25,000 cash bond or a $50,000 property bond. He has also been ordered to have no contact with any victim in the case.

This case remains under investigation.
