Mr. “Buddy” Dees, age 82, of Cedar Crossing, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at his home. He was a native of Toombs County and lived most of his life in Cedar Crossing. He worked with Lady Renee Industries as a carpenter and with Southern Company at Edwin I. Hatch Plant for many years. He was a member of Lyons Holiness Church in Lyons, and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, flea markets, going to yard sales and riding dirt roads. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Allen Dees, Sr. and Eloise Carter Dees; and one brother, Tommy Dees.
His family includes his wife of fifty-two years, Lawanda Walker Dees of Cedar Crossing; three children, Pamela Lynn Dees of Claxton, David A. Dees of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Scott A. Dees of Cedar Crossing; four grandchildren, Luke Dees, Candance Ehret, Jason Dees, Dillan Richardson; one great-grandchild, Kaydance; three brothers, Louie Dees and wife Diane, Ebbie Dees, and Mike Dees and wife Debbie, all of Cedar Crossing; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Cedar Crossing Cemetery on Friday morning, March 29th from 10:00 until just prior to the graveside funeral service at 11:00 with Reverend Gary Reaves and Pastor Donny Hughes officiating.
