The GBI has arrested Ramon Wright, age 34, of Dublin, Laurens County, Georgia, and Lakeisha Butler, age 32, of Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, following a joint drug investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Southeastern Regional Drug Enforcement Office (SRDEO), Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, and Dublin Police Department. On Monday, March 11, 2024, Wright and Butler were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine.

On February 8, 2024, the GBI SRDEO and the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the drug trafficking activities of Wright. Through various investigative acts over a period of about one month, agents obtained arrest warrants for Wright as well as a search warrant for a home located on the 1800 block of Old Macon Road in Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia. On Monday, March 11, 2024, the warrants were executed. Agents and investigators seized 1.2 pounds of suspected cocaine and 2.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from the search warrant. Butler was also arrested during the execution of the search warrant.

Wright and Butler were booked into the Laurens County Jail following their arrest. 

Multiple agencies conducted this investigation to make an impact on the current street level drug distribution within Laurens County, Georgia and promote a safer place for productive citizens.
