VHS Sweeps Bryan Co

January 11--The VHS Indians swept a pair of games over the Bryan Co Redskins Friday night, in Pembroke. The Lady Indians, winning 62-44. Vidalia led 38-13 at the half, and held on for the win. Chynna Hodge led the way in scoring with 23 points, and Chassidy Byrd with 13 points. The Lady Indians go to 8-7 on the year.

In the boys game, the Indians improved their record to 15-1 on the year, winning 78-46. The Indians had three players in double figures in scoring, Terry Jones with 15 points, Raekwon Reed with 13 points, and Jordan Black had 10 points.

The Indians are back in action at home Saturday afternoon with Richmond Hill, with the girls game starting at 4:00pm and the boys to follow. You can hear the game on Your Favorite, 98Q.

In other games, The Treutlen Vikings won both games with East Laurens in Soperton, the Lady Vikings winning, 37-26, the boys winning 61-48. This was the first win at home for Head Coach Tyree Coney over East Laurens.

The Toombs Co Bulldogs lost a pair of games Friday night in Savannah, St Vincents beating the Lady Bulldogs by two points, 43-41. Jamila Hopkins led the way with 11 points, and Deja Jones scored 9 points. Benedictine topped the Bulldogs in the boys game, 67-59. Melvin Blount and Gary Terrell has 14 points each for Toombs Co.

The RTCA Crusaders won a pair of games over Providence Christian, in Lyons.The Lady Crusaders winning 87-13,Sydni Collins led in scoring with 18 points. The boys winning their game by a score of 67-59. Matthew Patrick led the way with 21 points for the Crusaders. Both teams picking up their second region win of the season.
