 January 11--The VHS Indians football banaquet was held Thursday night at the First Baptist Church in Vidalia. The coaches of the football team handed out awards for both the Junior Varsity and Varsity teams. The VHS Cheerleaders were also in attendance and were recognized for their support of the teams.
Coach Lee Chomskis said,"It was a great windup, a great end, to a great year. We hate to see it come to an end, I am going to miss the senior class, it seems like the older I get the more attached I get to the players as they come thru. This was a special group, they did a lot of special things. They have set the bar very high for our underclassmen, its not just on the football field, but in the weightroom,their work ethic, attitude and commitment. We had a large four year group,and that's always special, that is what gets you over the top. You don't have a program until you get four year commitments from kids. We hope we send them off on a right tune." " We are excited about where we are going, and where we are, we've got alot of work ahead of us. We have some young guys that are going to have to step up and play. We also have some older guys, some juniors that haven't played yet, and we are hoping they are going to be ready to step in and play that senior year." Chomskis said.
