January 7--The Toombs Co Bulldogs Basketball teams won both games over the Montgomery Co Eagles Saturday, in Lyons. The Lady Bulldogs fell behind in the 1st half, 18-13 but, battled back in the 3rd period to lead 29-24 and win the game, 43-39. In the boys game, the Eagles led for much of the game, but the Bulldogs came back in the 3rd period and went on to win the game, 65-60. " It was a much needed win, we started out slow, they made a couple of shots at the beginning of the game, and weathered the storm, and the guys were able to come together, and pull out a win for us." Coach Keary Brownlee said. " The Holiday Classic in Tifton, the McDonald's Invitational was an eye opener, we played a lot of good teams, and got a pretty good beating down there, but I think it made us mentally and physically tougher and helped us get off to a good start in the new year." Brownlee stated. The Bulldogs are back in action Tuesday night with a region game against Atkinson Co, in Lyons. The girls game starts at 6:00pm with the boys at 7:30pm.
