Vidalia Sweeps Long Co.

Jan 5---The Vidalia Indian basketball teams traveled to Ludowici on Saturday afternoon for a pair of games against the Long County Blue Tide and came away with a couple of wins. The Lady Indians placed three players in double figures in a 45-44 win and the Indians avenged a loss last year in Long Co. with a 58-47 victory.

In the girls game the Lady Indians bounced back from Friday night’s loss to Jeff Davis and got 11 points from Brianna McKinney and 10 points each from Kourtney Owens and Trinity Hamm to get by the Blue Tide. With the win the Lady Indians improve to 6-7 on the year and are 1-2 in region play.

In the boys game Tommy Dalley's Indians never trailed in the game and came away with an 11 point win over the Blue Tide. Jordan Black led the way for the Indians with 15 points, while Ramel Thompkins and Malik Mincey each added 10. The win for the Indians was their 13th of the year and moves their overall record to 13-1. 

Both teams will be back in action Tuesday night when they host Bacon County in a 2A-AA Sub region Match-up. The girls will tip at 6:00 pm followed by the boys at 7:30 and you can catch all the action on "Your Favorite" 98Q!
