Toombs Co Bulldogs Boys Basketball
Tuesday, 18 December 2012
December 18--The Toombs Co Bulldogs Boys Basketball Team is 2-4 on the young season. The Bulldogs have been struggling at the free throw line, costing the team a chance to win close ballgames. The team picked up a win last Friday night at home over the Metter Tigers because they were able to make important free throws.
" Anytime you get a win, that is something to be proud about, the guys played with more effort this past Friday night. We finally made some free throws, like I tell the guys, we should be 5-1 if we had made our free throws. The last few games against Bacon, Jeff Davis and McIntosh we missed 15, 17, and 19 free throws, if you miss that many during a games you put yourself in a position not to win those games." Coach Keary Brownlee said.
The Bulldogs host Region 2AA opponent, and cross-county rivals, the VHS Indians Tuesday night.
" I was telling the team in practice, I want to win every game, I know about the rivalry, I am not from here. This game is for the fans and the community, and bragging rights, but I look at them as another one of the teams on the schedule. I want to win every game." Brownlee stated.
The Toombs Co Bulldogs play again on Saturday at Wayne Co.
