December 7--The Brewton-Parker College Men's Basketball Team has started the season playing most of it's games on the road against some tough teams. The Barons are 2-9 so far this year.

" We have a well balanced team this year, and we have had a rough start the first five or six games, we weren't able to put the ball in the hole, but we have found our scoring touch the last few games and that is giving ourselves chances to win. We have a young team that need to learn how to finish ballgames." Coach Jarvis Smith said.

The Barons picked up a win on the road in Columbia, South Carolina on Wednesday night against Benedict College, a number one ranked pre-season team in SIAC, in Division 2.

" The guys went up there and put forty minutes together and did a great job at stepping up and learning that step of finishing games as a unit." Smith said

The Barons play the Georgia Southern Eagles in Statesboro Saturday night.

" It's almost like the little brother, playing the big brother, coach Charles Yawn has kind of been my mentor, so we are very familiar with each others programs. We are looking forward to the opportunity of going over there and playing in division one for a night." Smith stated.
