Montgomery Co Wrestling
Tuesday, 04 December 2012
December 4--The season has started for area high school wrestling teams. The Montgomery Co Eagles Wrestling team is a young team coached by Bill Pitt. This is the first year at Montgomery Co for experienced coach Pitt.
" We are real young, we just finished up with the Jeff Davis duals tournament, where we can in ninth. We won our last three matches. We also won our first home meet by beating Jeff Davis and Wheeler Co. and we are working towards a good season, but we are very young." Pitt said.
" I started the Charlton Co program in the mid-nineties, I was the head wrestling coach at Burke Co, and I started the wrestling program at Telfair Co." Pitt stated
" Right now we have almost 30 members at the high school, ten at the middle school and forty kids at our elementary program. We have three seniors on the team with a little experience, so what we are doing this year is going back to square one and implementing my program and starting over. The main focus is building a state level program here at Montgomery Co with the administration being extremely supportive." Pitt said.
The team will be competing this Friday and Saturday at the West Laurens Blue Raider Invitational, in Dublin.
