Wednesday, 07 November 2012
November 7-- Image It's time for wrestling at the Vidalia Heritage Academy! For the first time there is a wrestling team at the school. The team is being coached by Chester Proctor and Ross Kelly.
"We just started practice on November 5th, and we practice three days a week, with this being a christian school, we want to give the kids time to go to church on Wednesday's, and also let them off on Friday's at this level. We are running 2nd thru 8th grade, and have fourteen wrestlers on the team." Proctor said.
"Fourteen wrestlers is a great number for a first year program, and the best thing about the ages of our wrestlers is that they are picking up the basics at an early age, and as we go on are going to be prepared for high school competition." Proctor said.
"We are preparing for the first tournament coming up on December 22nd, at the Toombs Co Middle School gym, that gives us about six weeks to prepare and once we start with tournament action, we will spend the next two or three months competing every week at tournaments on Saturday's" Proctor stated.
" I am really looking forward to this season of learning, and Ithink it is going to be a great season. I am excited to see what happens at Vidalia Heritage." Proctor said.
