TB Case Confirmed
Friday, 09 January 2009

January 9--  Health officials confirm that a student at Montgomery County Elementary School has tuberculosis (TB).  However, they say the boy is being treated, is doing well, and is no longer contagious.  According to a letter from the school system, the child will be able to return to school Monday.

School Superintendent Dr. Lynn Batten has sent letters to students and staff likely exposed to the boy.  It encourages them to go to the Montgomery County Health Department for testing.

Parents with questions are asked to contact school principal Randy Rodgers at 583-2279.
