Bulldogs Roll Blue Tide
Saturday, 20 October 2012

October 19--The Toombs Co Bulldogs defeated the Long Co Blue Tide on Friday night 33-20, in Ludowici. The Bulldogs spoiled homecoming for Long Co with 4 touchdown runs by Jamar Smith. Mark Terrell added one of his own to seal the win for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs led at the half 21-0, and were in control of the game, but  Josh Berry of the Blue Tide ran the 2nd half opening kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown, giving them momentum. Long Co scored on two more rushing touchdowns by Berry in the second half.

Toombs Co never trailed in the game, and a quarterback sack by Tomond Hampton in the 4th quarter, on a critical 4th down play, enabled the Bulldogs to take over on offense, and run the clock out for the win.

The Bulldogs go to 5-2 on the year, and 4-2 in the region, and play at home next Friday night against Benedictine.
