Real Squeal 5k Mud Run
Sunday, 14 October 2012
October 14-- Image  A 5k Mud Run, part of the Real Squeal BBQ & Music Festival was held Saturday morning, just off of Johnson Corner Road. Over 100 runners competed in the event, to help raise funds for the United Way and local charities.

Frank Wheatley, a soldier from Ft. Stewart won the event with a time of under 26 minutes.

" The course was a lot of fun. I can usually run 5k in 20 minutes, but this course you were wet right at the start, and that added about 10 pounds to you right from the beginning of the race." Wheatley said.

Micka Williams and Canaan Banks helped organize the event with a lot hard work and help from volunteers.

" It took a few months to get the course ready, and we had alot of help from volunteers who worked long and hard to get the course in shape for the event." Banks said.
