Toombs Co Bulldogs Over Metter Tigers

September 21--The Toombs Co Bulldogs defeated the Metter Tigers 21-6, in Metter on Friday night. The Bulldogs picked up their third win of the season, and the second region win of the year, for an overall record of 3-1. Toombs Co scored first on a 15 yard run by Jamar Smith with 6:23 left in the first quarter. Extra point try was good for a 7-0 lead.
The Metter Tigers scored on a 33 yard pass by QB Jared Wedingcamp to Malik Kelly with 32 seconds left in the quarter, extra point try was no good. Toombs Co with the lead 7-6.
The Bulldogs scored next when QB Ben Brantley threw a 45 yard TD pass to Tomond Hampton with 1:15 left in the half. Extra point try was good. Toombs Co led 14-6 at the half.
The score remained 14-6 until the Bulldogs scored on a 46 yard pass from Brantley to Anthony Britt, with 6:15 left in the game. Extra point was good  for a final score, Toombs Co 21, Metter 6.
Senior Tomond Hampton went out of the game in the 4th quarter with a leg or knee injury.
The Bulldogs are on the road again next Friday night to Jeff Davis in Hazelhurst.
