August 16--  The young women of the LPGA Symetra Tour are making their way to the Sweet Onion City.  They are playing in Virginia this weekend and will be in Vidalia at Hawk's Point Golf Course the week of September 17.  If you can volunteer to help with the tournament, contact Patricia Dixon, 537-2776.  

Road to the LPGA Makes a Stop in Richmond for Fourth-Annual Eagle Classic

The Symetra Tour will head back east for the five remaining tournaments of the 2012 season and will stop in Richmond, Va. for the fifth-annual Eagle Classic. The Road to the LPGA will bring its best talent to Richmond Country Club for the three-day event which will unfold August 17-19. The tournament will host 144 players, including nine out of the top-10 players in the Volvik Race for the Card, who will be competing for a $100,000 purse and an exemption to the LPGA Tour’s Kingsmill Championship.
