East Ga. State College Men's Basketball

August 15--The East Ga. State Bobcats Men's Basketball Team recently completed its third recruiting class. The class is highlighted by a couple of high profile transfers that are expected to have an impact on this years team. The Bobcats finished last season with a record of 17-13 in 5th place in the GCAA Conference.
Coach Neil Bailey commented, " We are so pleased to have this great group of young men joining our program. Combined with the experienced players we have back, I am very optimistic about our chances this season."
D.J. Felder, a 6'7" 225lb. forward from Hinesville will bring scoring and rebounding to the team, a transfer from St. John's River College and an explosive scorer will have an immediate impact.
Tommy Williams, a 6'6" 215lb. wing from Augusta is a highly recruited athlete who has overcome a knee injury and close to 100% and is ready to show that he is back.
A local returning player from Montgomery Co.former Eagle Brian Byrd will help the Bobcats this year. At 6'4" with a 7'2" wingspan and is a very good athlete.
Coach Bailey stated, " The conference is always really tough and competitive, last year there wasn't really any difference from the number one team, to the number eight team, anybody could beat anybody on any given night. This year we should compete for the conference title."
