Tattnall Co. Football Team Practicing For New Season
Monday, 30 July 2012

July 30--The Tattnall Co. Battlecreek Warriors are getting prepared for the new football season. Coach Jeff Kaiser has the team practicing and taking precautions due to the heat the team is having to practice in this time of year. There are new restrictions all teams have to follow in the state with the wet bulb humidity and temperature guidlines preventing teams not being able to practice when the temperature reaches a certain degree.

Coach Kaiser says, " It is going to be an ajustment for us, we've been practicing in the morning and we have to get off the field about the time the wet bulb temperature would effect our normal practice time. For the folks in our area it is an extreme ajustment on how you coach and prepare for the season."

School starts at Tattnall Co. August 8th and the heat is going to effect practice starting times.

Coach Kaiser said, " Once school starts here it is going to be an extreme challenge to do what we need to get done, it is what it is and it's good to have a policy for the safety for the kids. We are going to bear on the side of caution and make sure we are doing whatever we can to keep our kids safe."

" We have a good group of seniors this year however,  we have a very, very small amount of kids with any varsity experience. I would estimate we have only five kids coming back that have played varsity football." Kaiser said.

Coach Kaiser went on to say, " We have some tremendous young men character wise , just some super kids, fun to come to work everyday. our goal is to get better everyday and we'll see where the cards fall come game time."

Tattnall scrimmage Jenkins High School August 16th at Memorial Stadium in Savannah and will open the regular season on August 31st at home against Claxton.
