July 19--The Treutlen Vikings Girl Softball Team coached by Brent Korn is working hard this summer to improve on last season's 10-18 record, missing the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.

Coach Korn says, " This years' team is a very young team with only one senior and three juniors starting on the field but, the team had a good summer playing a lot of games working hard and getting better."

Korn went on to say, " The big thing this year is the split out of public and private schools and getting points for beating a team and not knowing how to schedule games, there will still be 32 teams making the playoffs but, now there will be 16 public and 16 private schools."

The team will start up next week with a scrimmage game and a tournament to follow in Tattnall County.

Korn stated, " The team will be young in the circle and that the team will have to play good defense behind them but, the pitchers are very good pitchers. "
