Both VHS tennis teams finished 4th in the region - The Boys' team was defeated by Brantley County (#1) and then by Pierce (#3).  Vidalia played Brantley County in the opening match of the tournament.  Julian McCaig was defeated 0-6, 1-6. Daniel Morrison lost 0-6, 0-6.  Trace Calloway's match was pulled before completion as the team had two losses.  He lost the first et 3-6, and was losing the second set 2-4.  Tyyon Anthony and WIliam Collins were defeated 0-6, 0-6.  Travis McCaig and Dakota Paradice were stopped due to the team's 3 losses but they were losing 0-1.  The Indians moved to the consolation round and were defeated by Pierce County.  Julian McCaig lost 2-6, 4-6.  Daniel Morrison lost 1-6, 0-6.  Trace Calloway won his match.  He won the first set 6-4, lost the second set 3-6, then won the tie break 7-1 to win the match.  Tyyon Anthony and WIlliam Collins were pulled before finishing but had lost 1-6, and were losing 2-3.  Travis McCaig and Dakota Paradice lost 3-6, 4-6.  The Indians should face Thomasville in the first round of the state play-offs.

     The lady Indians almost pulled off a huge upset in the tournament.  The #4 Indians faced #1 St. Vincent's in the opening match.  The match was tied 2-2 with wins from #2 singles Tiara Anthony and #1 doubles Ashlee Darsey and Abigail Dixon.  The deciding match was being played on the #1 singles court with Kalyn Merritt.  Merritt won the first set 7-5, lost the second set 4-6, was ahead in the third set 4-0 but ended up having to go to a tiebreak and lost the tiebreak 5-7.  The lady Indians then faced Appling County in the consolation round.  Again, wins came from #2 singles Tiara Anthony and #1 doubles: Ashlee Darsey and Abigail Dixon.  The deciding match was at #1 singles once again with Kalyn Merritt.  Kalyn won the first set 6-3, lost the second set 3-6. and lost the third set 4-6.  The lady Indians finished at #4 in the region and will face Thomasville in the first round of the state playoffs.
