Barons Baseball Continues to Compete
Thursday, 22 March 2012

The Brewton Parker Barons baseball team is sporting a 22-11 record. For a while their road record was better than their home record.  The Barons are now 7-7 at home. Coach Boo Mullins says the reason for the slow start at home was due to the competition. Mullins says they started the home season playing the top 2-3 teams in the nation and mostly split those. He says playing that type of quality team only helps his guys. Mullins also says he loves the new bat because it forces coaches to actually coach. He says you willnot see that 150 pound kid hitting 10-12 homeruns a year.

In the pitching department Mullins says his number 1 and 2 pitchers have been injured, but, the remaining staff has thrown outstanding. In fact they lead the league in many categories, including pick offs. The Barons are on the road for a weekend series with Lee.
