SPAY-GHETTI Success!

February 29--  The Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society (SOAPS) celebrated the worldwide observance of "Spay Day" with a benefit SpayGhetti Supper Tuesday night at the Vidalia Community Center.

Celebrity servers like Lyons Police Chief Wesley Walker (left) loaded plates with "SpayGhetti" and salad from Steeplechase in Vidalia. 

SOAPS volunteers sold hundreds of "SpayGhetti" plates and enlisted corporate sponsors to help raise money for spaying and neutering of stray animals and pets of those who can't afford the cost of the procedure.  Organizer Marcia Cherry estimates the event raised nearly $10,000.
