Greg Busby Resigns as Eagle AD and Head Football Coach
Tuesday, 27 December 2011

Montgomery County Eagle Head Coach and Athletic Director Greg Busby has resigned those positions at the high school. Busby says that it just seemed like the right time. Busby said, “I figured I needed to go ahead and do it so they would have the time to find a replacement." It was very hard emotionally for Busby because of his relationship with the kids, “yeah, I have had some really good young’uns here at Montgomery County, and I’ve enjoyed coaching them, and have built some strong relationships, and I’m going to miss them. I am also grateful for the time we had and the friends I have made. I have, hopefully, had a good influence on some of those. But, sometimes you have to recognize when it’s time to move on.” Busby gushed about the many parents who worked tirelessly to try to help him and the program. He said there were too many to name because he was afraid he would leave someone out.

Busby leaves with a record of 13-27 in his 4 years. He did well, despite many defections of athletes due to the turmoil in the county school system. Many of those athletes started for the schools where they landed. Busby says his immediate future is uncertain.
