Vidalia Wrestling Starts Season

The Vidalia Wrestling team competed at the West Laurens Duals last week to start their 2011-2012 season.  The team wrestled five dual meets coming away with two wins and three losses.  Scoring points for the Indians were Tevin Tolbert (106) with three pins, Brandon Watts (106) with one pin, Jerry Clark (113) with three wins, Tyler Campbell (120/126) with one win, Michael Joiner (120/126) with one win, Darnell Hendley (132) with two wins, Quantrell Yarbrough (138) with two pins, Solomon Mcleod (160) with two wins, Kris Owens (160) with one win, Dominick Thomas (170) with one pin, Jacob Copeland (182) with three wins, Daniel Copeland (220) with two wins, Shakeem Lassitter (220) with one win, and Kyle Gasper (285) with three pins.  Zuquion Gaffney (152) stood out for the Indians by winning four of his five matches and all five going the complete six-minute time limit. Others competing for the Indians were Trayvon Simpson with one junior varsity win, Trace Simmons with one junior varsity win, Javon Jackson, and Ivey Kennedy.  The Indians next compete at the Jeff Davis Duals on December 2nd.
