Area Schools Moving to AAA

November 25--  Eight area high schools have been identified by the Georgia High School Association to move from AA to AAA classifications based on student enrollment.

Schools named are Appling, Brantley, Dodge, Pierce, Tattnall and Jefferson counties plus Southeast Bulloch and Swainsboro.

Toombs County and Vidalia remain in AA and will be joined by Metter High School which moves up from Class A.

Schools have until December 5 to decide whether to play up in a higher classification.  The schools will be placed in regions December 6.  After the appeals process, the new regions are scheduled to be finalized January 10.
