Thursday, 20 November 2008

November 20-- Lawyers for a former Montgomery County High School teacher are preparing to file a civil suit alleging his civil rights were violated.  Chris Bowman is the teacher who reported counselor Carrie O'Connor to law enforcement.  O'Connor was acquitted of sexual assault charges Thursday.

Bowman was ordered off campus the day the GBI arrived to start it's investigation of O'Connor.  He had earleir been informed that his contract would not be renewed for the next school term.

His attorney, Bob Trammel of Newnan, says the Department of Justice has notified Bowman he has the right to sue under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and that a complaint will be filed against Montgomery County Schools.
