Crusaders Face Spartans for State Title
Thursday, 26 May 2011

The Robert Toombs Crusaders will host Edmund Burke Academy in the first of a three-game series for the GISA AA state championship on Friday afternoon  in Lyons. The Crusaders have already beaten Edmund Burke twice this year. Spartan Coach Aaron Phillips says the two previous losses have put a  little chip on his player shoulders. He feels that he has a stronger team than when the teams played earlier in the year. Crusader Coach Hayne Brant says he knows it's going to be a tough series, but he thinks his team is up to the challenge. The first pitch Friday will be at four o'clock . Game two will be played Saturday at 12 noon with the “if necessary” game to follow 30 minutes later. The entire series can be heard on Sweet Onion Country 1017 FM.
