Vidalia Onion Runs Feature Two 4 Time Winners and Miracle

Nearly 1700 runners participated in this year's event that started off the with 1 mile fun run

For the fourth straight year, Vidalia Indian Lee Humprey won the men's title in the one mile fun run with a time of 5:11

Vidalia Student Kourtney Owens won in her first attempt at the women's title with a time of 7:16.

35 year old Matt Gibbs of Dublin (originally from Lyons) won the men's 5k for the fourth consecutive year with a time of 18:04.

14 year old Miracle Watson of Jesup was the women's 5k winner with a time of 22:05. In case you're wondering, Miracle came by her name honestly...she died at birth. After her Grandmother put hands on her and prayed, she began breathing again and came back to life.

In the 10k run, 17 year old Esgar Maldonado a junior at Toombs County High and a member of the cross country team was the men's winner with a time of 39:46. It was his first time running in the event.

In the women's 10k, Lisa Espino, a former Toombs County cross country runner, and now student at Georgia Southwestern, was the winner with a time of 47:20.
