Kevin Hill Steps Down From Wrestling
Wednesday, 27 April 2011

It's the end of an era........... After 21 years, Toombs County head wrestling coach Kevin Hill has decided to step down from that position. Hill says that he missed alot of time with his own kids growing up because of sports..not that he doesn't love it, but, he wants to make sure he gets to spend time with his grandchildre. He has one grandson, and a granddaughter on the way. Hill says it was a wretching decision, but, one he is glad he is making. Hill says he won't be completely out of the sport. He say he will help out whenever he can, and will always be around to help with the many tournaments the school hosts. The baton will be passed to Travis Ellington, who Hill is very confident in. Hill says,"Travis was head coach at Irwin County and won region Coach of the Year honors twice." Ellington says he is gratified that Hill feels he is the right one to carry on the strong tradition that Coach Hill has instilled.

Coach Hill will still be the Athletic Director and will still coach football.
