TeamRV at Onion Fest Airshow
Friday, 22 April 2011

April 22-- Team RV, the world's largest air show team, will perform Saturday and Sunday, April 30 and May 1, at the annual celebration of the world's sweetest onion in Vidalia, GA.

"Vidalia has a tradition of celebrating the onion harvest with a spectacular festival and air show.  When we take to the sky on Saturday and Sunday the audience will see an action-packed performance unlike any other in the industry," said Mike  "Kahuna" Stewart, Team RV Founder and Flight Lead.  Based in Atlanta, GA, Team RV flies a unique routine of 10-to-13 aircraft engaged in a nonstop display of close formation, opposing passes, and graceful aerobatics.  Eleven planes will fly in Vidalia.

The team's lyrical show combines four-ship formation aerobatics with 11-ship formation photo passes full of smoke, colorful aircraft, and the roar of multiple engines.  Men, women, and children of all ages enjoy the routine as they look skyward and follow the action.  "We measure our success in smiles," Stewart said.  "We want the entire audience to have fun and be thrilled by our flying."

ImageTeam RV pilots are from the southeast, mainly Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The RV series experimental kitplanes flown by Team RV are nimble, low-wing monoplanes capable of attaining speeds in excess of 200 mph and are stressed for 6 g's.  Most members built their planes in their own hangar or garage, and no two planes are exactly alike.
