January 6--  The Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society needs more people to help with saving animals in southeast Georgia.  Holly Reynolds with SOAPS posted the following appeal today.  If you would like to become involved, email Holly at holly4soaps@yahoo.com.

"This has been a very busy week. We have been able to rescue 20 animals since saturday and save their lives, in addition to Therisa transporting 6 to Atlanta Humane and 4 to Atlanta Pet Rescue on Tuesday. We have a transport for tomorrow for 12 dogs to meet a transporter and then be taken to K-9 Life Savers, which no one has volunteered to do.

We have a short and simple transport for Friday to Warner Robins to take a jack russell mix dog to meet My Buddy Transport so he can go to his new home in NH. We really need some help. If you can take this little guy to Warner Robins Friday morning, please call Holly at 912-539-9840.

I am working on 2 other transports that will happen within the next week or so. If we cannot have more volunteers for transport, we will not be able to continue to save the number of animals we are now. If you know of anyone who would like to become involved and could spare a few hours a month of their time, please tell them about our monthly meeting or give them a contact.  SOAPS is in need of more members and active volunteers."
