Vidalia Council OK's Budget
Thursday, 16 December 2010

December 16--  The budget for the city of Vidalia in 2011 is down about one percent from this year.

The Vidalia City Council approved the $9,929,041 budget at its meeting Monday night.

The budget includes $7.3 million in the general operating fund, just over $2 million for water and sewer operations and $529,000 for operation of Vidalia Regional Airport.

In addition, the city has a $1.9 million sales tax budget.  City manager Bill Torrance says most of that money will be used to renovate the former Winn-Dixie building downtown for the new home of the Vidalia Police Department.  He expects bids on the project will be solicited in late March.
