Montgomery Staying with Toombs Ambulance Service
Wednesday, 15 December 2010

December 15--  Montgomery County is planning to renew its contract with Toombs County for ambulance service.

At a called Montgomery County Commission meeting Wednesday, commissioners voted in favor of renewal to save the county nearly $10,000 in 2011.  The Toombs contract is for just over $186,000 compared to $196,000 quoted by the private Heartland Ambulance Service.

The commission also approved an ad seeking bids for renovation of a former storefront church building on the square in Mount Vernon to serve as the county sheriff's office.  A previous bid was thrown out because the project was not properly advertised.
