$5,000 Reward Offered in Bank Robbery
Tuesday, 23 November 2010

November 23--  A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a man who injured two employees of the Altamaha Bank in Vidalia during an attempted robbery October 27.

During the course of the robbery, the subject shot Brent Sammons in the legs, hit Matt Mead in the head and fled in Mead's truck.

Vidalia Police Lieutenant Jimmy Sims says any information may help police find the perpetrator.  "They may have seen something they think is not important, but it may be just what we are looking for," he says.

Altamaha Bank is offering the $5,000 and information may be phoned in anonymously to the Crimestoppers Hotline.

"There's no dumb question or dumb answer," Sims says.  "We've had a lot of people call in on this robbery and we appreciate it," he adds.

The Crimestoppers number is 1-866-439-6313.
