Montgomery County Budget OK

November 22--  Montgomery County commissioners are holding the line on the county budget.

At their November meeting, the commissioners approved a 2011 general fund budget of $3.3 million, essentially the same as this year.  The commission also okayed revenues estimated at $600,000 for the county's sales tax account.  County manager David Curry says sales tax collections are averaging about $50,000 a month.

Commissioners also appointed some new members to the Montgomery County Development Authority.  Named to two-year terms are Kathy Rudd succeeding Millie Dugan and Mitch Fulmer to replace Joey Fountain.

Other appointments include Kathy Moses to the regional planning board of the Department of Behavorial Health and Developmental Disabilities and Charlie Williams to the Heart of Georgia Regional Council Board.
