State Winner at STC

November 5--  Karen Davis, Pharmacy Technology Program Director at Southeastern Tech, has been named the 2010 Health-System Pharmacy Technician by the Georgia Society of Health System Pharmacists.  The award recognizes a health-system pharmacy technician who has demonstrated practice excellence and leadership in the support of implementing pharmaceutical care.

“I feel very honored to have received this award. The support from Southeastern Technical College and the pharmacy profession has been overwhelming and I can only hope that this encourages my students to become the best pharmacy technicians they can,” said Davis.   

Karen’s current role as Pharmacy Technology Director at Southeastern Technical College provides many opportunities to contribute  including maintaining curriculum standards, ASHP accreditation, direct student observation, public awareness of technology program, staff development and the department budget.   Karen has had many previous experiences as a certified technician in health systems assisting with Joint Commission readiness, education and training, inventory management, compounding and narcotic management.  Karen has been a pharmacy technician for 29 years.
