October 27--  Vidalia police say the search is continuing for a suspect who attempted to rob a Vidalia bank early Wednesday and shot an employee.

Police chief Frank Waits says area law enforcement officers are looking for a black male who was dressed in camouflage when he shot employee Brent Sammons at the Altamaha Bank and Trust on Highway 280 West in Vidalia.  The man fled from the bank in a stolen truck which was found later in Montgomery County.  Police dogs and officers have been searching the area to no avail as of late Wednesday afternoon.

Sammons was taken to a Savannah hospital for treatment.  Chief Waits says the bullet missed the bones and arteries in his legs and he should make a full recovery.
