Toombs Advance Voting Better
Wednesday, 20 October 2010

October 20--  The voting registrar in Toombs County says the number of people voting in advance for the general election is better than in the past.

Carrie Achenbach reports about 500 people have already voted in person and 360 have returned absentee ballots.  That's about 7.5% of the county's registered voters.  Achenbach is expecting the busiest time in her office the last week before the election.

Advance voting is reported slower in nearby counties.  In Montgomery County, 132 people have voted in advance and 43 have returned absentee ballots.  In Treutlen County, 203 have already voted.
