October 13--  One man was killed and another injured Wednesday morning in Toombs County.

According to Sheriff Junior Kight, 71-year-old Dennis Sylvester Joyner of 1989 Thompson Pond Road was killed when the car he was driving left the road, hit a tree and overturned.  The accident happened on Thompson Pond Road near Lent Stephens Road about eight a.m.

Officers say Joyner's son, 42-year-old Bobby Joyner, was injured and later transferred to a Savannah hospital.  Both men were thrown from the vehicle, according to deputies.
