September 22--  A drunk driver is getting prison time for vehicular homicide in the death of a Toombs County woman last year.

Toombs County Superior Court Judge Kathy Palmer sentenced Derrick Clifford Varnadore of Tattnall County to 12 years in prison and three years on probation. He was driving a truck which collided head-on with the vehicle of Louise Pye of Santa Claus on January 2, 2009.

Three men were sentenced for robberies.  Justin Strong will serve 17 years and eight years probation, Michael Stokes ten years and five years probation, and Daniel Williams ten years in jail and ten on probation.

In drug cases, Mario Adderson gets ten years for cocaine possession; Royfeekee L. McLendon ten years for sale of cocaine; Donnie Edmonds, Jr. seven years for the sale of marijuana; and Dustin Kirkland five years probation for possession of marijuana.

In other cases, Jody Tootle got three years for burglary, Ronald Lawrence, Jr. ten years for forgery and Aleshia Trinidad three years for credit card fraud.
