Down Home Comedian In Vidalia Friday
Wednesday, 22 September 2010

September 22--  A guy who got his start doing amateur nights at comedy clubs in Atlanta 28 years ago is bringing his act to Vidalia Friday night.

James Gregory is billed as "The Funniest Man in America" and says he talks about everyday life in a show which is suitable for all ages.

"There's not many stand-up comedy shows in the country where all ages can come and enjoy the show.  We give them the kind of show which is hysterically funny but not embarassing to anyone.  If you're eight, eighteen or eighty you'll enjoy the show," Gregory says.

Gregory says he's on the road almost every weekend taking his humor to many small venues like Vidalia.  He finds that almost everybody can relate to the stories he tells, "I think that's why I'm still in business.  People tell me 'I think you grew up on my front porch," he reports.

Gregory has shows Friday night at seven and nine p.m. at the historic Pal Theater in downtown Vidalia.  Despite the Friday night football games, he reports ticket sales are good.  "Anywhere I go I can always find 300, 500 or 600 people who are not going to the ballgame.  I know football is popular and we love it, but there are some people who don't go," Gregory notes.
