Montgomery Drops Age Limits on Mobile Homes
Thursday, 16 September 2010

September 16--  Area counties are changing their local ordinances to comply with a new state law which prohibits counties from setting an age limit on mobile homes.

Before the new law, some counties would not allow a mobile home more than ten years old to be located in the county and others set a 15-year age limit.

Monday the Montgomery County Commission changed its local law and Toombs County officials say they are in the process of removing time limits from their ordinance.

The new state law allows habitation of any mobile home as long as its meets basic code requirements for safety and sanitation.
