Two Indicted for Murder

September 9-- Two men have been indicted in a Vidalia murder case.

A Toombs County grand jury indicted Benjamin Allen Johnson of 106 Sebie Page Road in Vidalia and Brian Allan Stastny of 1546 Lyons-Center Road for the shooting death last February of Christopher Dustin Cartrette of Vidalia.  The shooting happened on Cadillac Drive and was drug-related, according to law enforcement officials.

The grand jury also indicted seven people on drug charges.  Facing cocaine charges are Dale Anthony, James Corbett, Vermaris Johnson, Elroy Miller and Trevian Edwards.  Marijuane-related indictments were approved against Tarrell Brandon and Crystal Sharpe.

Aggravated assault indictments were returned against Jesus Martinez, Michelle Corouthers, Craig Crosby and Melesio Mendez.  Rebecca Sue Bruce was indicted for the aggravated stalking of Michelle Sikes for nearly a year.

A first degree forgery indictment was returned against James Wilds for forging 15 checks totaling $11,323.11 on the account of Kitty and Tony Wilds in June, July and August, 2009.

Theft by taking indictments were returned against Lonza Lee Davis, Jr., Rayford Martin, Richard Thompson and Elton Burnett.

Indicted for burglary are Aaron Adams, Brandon Baker, and Derrick Jones.

Two people indicted for criminal damage to property are Victor Kennedy and Jerry Casares.
