Area Pols Endorse Deal for Gov
Friday, 06 August 2010

August 6--  Two area state representatives are endorsing former Georgia Congressman Nathan Deal in Tuesday's Republican primary runoff election for governor.

According to Deal's campaign, Representatives Greg Morris of Vidalia and Butch Parrish of Swainsboro are among some 70 House Republicans who are throwing their support to Deal.

Representative Morris says, "I believe Nathan Deal is the conservative candidate in the runoff.  He's been a consistent and reliable conservative in Washington.  He's always voted for lower taxes and less government.  We've certainly needed that in Washington and we need to continue that in Atlanta."

Morris believes Deal will beat Democrat nominee Roy Barnes if Georgia's conservative voters will unite behind his campaign and go to the polls in November.

Deal also has the support of former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, while his opponent Karen Handel has endorsements from former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Arizona Governor Susan Brewer.
